Display doesn't wake after going to sleep

On rare occassion, but often enough to be a hassle, my 20" apple display will stay black after I move the mouse or hit the keyboard after the computer has gone to sleep. My only solution is to hold the power button in for 5 second and force a restart. Why does this happen and what can I do to stop it?
Thanks!

Norm,
I to am having the same issue. In fact, not only does my computer not wake up but the fans turn on full speed and wont go off.
As of this posting I have been on the phone to APPLE TECH for 1 hour. Tried many different 'fixs' with no results. I have been instructed to call back tomorrow and continue with a 'higher up' techy.
I'll post what ever the Tech results are at that time. Hang on a little longer.
