Cannot bring up the router (192.168.1.1)

Using the WRK54G V2 router - am not able to bring up the router when I call for 192.168.1.1 - I tried clearing the cache, I tried using different browsers (IE6, Firefox), I disabled the firewall, all to no avail: all I get is an error message that reads in part, "timed out." Does anybody know what is going on? Have others reported this problem?

When I go to edit my router settings by typing my IP into adress box, about 50% of the text doesn't even load. I have no idea what the hell is going on or how to fix it. .

I really need to forward some ports and I'm unable because of this. This was not happening about 3 weeks or so ago when I first installed the router. Please help.
