Can't connect Photosmart 7510e all-in-one C311a to network for updates-new install-Windows 7 32 bit

During installation of new printer and wireless e-print set up (Photosmart 7510e all-in-one C311a) I was asked to use printer to check for updates but I am getting error "printer is not connected to a network". I have printer connected to laptop via USB. Laptop have active wireless connection, Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. Please advice.
