Hi,
I am buying a new iMac and want to hook up my old PowerMac G4 (OS 10.3) so that the iMac sees it as a separate hard drive and I am able to access programs and files from the G4. I am still working on a project on my G4, using Adobe CS2, and would like to continue to work on it using my new iMac so I don't have to keep switching back and forth between computers. My G4 has an additional old hard drive in it that runs OS 9.8 and programs related to it, so I'd like the same configuration for my new iMac, if it's possible.

If your G4 has a Firewire port then you can connect it to your new Mac with a Firewire cable - 6 pin to 9 pin cable. You will need a Thunderbolt to Firewire adaptor for the new computer. You would useTarget Disk Mode by booting the G4 into TDM and the new computer normally. If it works then the drive in the G4 will appear on the new computer's Desktop.
