Attachments shown in-line, any way to get the icons back?

The email app has stopped showing icons for attachments and instead just produces them as in-line text. Is there a way to get my attachment icons back? I prefer to use Good Reader for PDFs and trying to see them inside the body of an email just plain stinks. Thanks for any help!

Probably it is late and not really interesting anymore but I was looking for the same with icon and in-line preview.
Just right-click on attachment and choose View as Icon. Once I clicked on one, the rest became just became an Icons.
