John Promersberger
John has been a member of the WUA since 1996, and an instructor since 1997. He was elected Director of Training in 2007, has served on the WUA board since 1999. He was selected as the Baseball Umpire of the Year in 2005. John umpires high school softball and baseball along with Men's Land O' Lakes leagues primarily in the West division. He was the Western Division Umpire of the
Year in 2006. He has also been the Crew chief for numerous spring and summer high school sectionals and 2 State Tournaments.

Following in my father’s footsteps, I started umpiring at the age of 12 in Pennsylvania fifty years ago. I have
been a member of the WUA for the past 26 years and an instructor for eons. I was selected WUA Baseball
Umpire of the Year in 1999. As for why I teach umpiring? I do this for the love of the game and those who
serve it.

Pete Jaskulski “Jaz”
Pete has been umpiring on the high school and collegiate level since 1981. He has umpired both the spring and
summer WIAA Sectionals for the past 20 years and in the WIAA State Tournament in the spring of 2004 and
2005. Pete has been assigned as the crew chief in 11 sectionals and was the crew chief in the 2005 and 2010
WIAA State Tournament. Pete has umpired in the following conferences: Classic 8, Greater Metro, North
Shore, Southeast, Wisconsin Little Ten and the Woodland at the varsity level. Pete is also working with the
Wisconsin Umpires Association as a trainer concentrating on game management and communications skills.
“Jaz” was the recipient of the Ken Kirby Umpire of the Year Award in 2005.

David Furru
Dave has been umpiring since 2002 and a member of the WUA since 2005. Master ranking in WIAA. Along
with working WIAA baseball, also works Land O' Lakes, MBL, MSBL and WYSBL and D3 college games. He
has been selected for numerous playoff games in adult leagues including the Finals. He has been a member of
the WUA training staff since 2010.

Jon Kradecki
Since 1971 Jon has officiated in Little League/youth baseball and softball. He was selected for a World Series
in Little League Softball at Kalamazoo MI in 2008 and a regional final behind the plate on ESPN in Little
League baseball at Indianapolis. Since 1999 has been working WIAA baseball/softball and have umpired both
sports at the regional and sectional level.

Brent Killackey
WUA member and a WIAA baseball umpire since 2008. He has been umpiring since the mid-1980s, getting his
start with his hometown Little League in Libertyville, Ill. Prior to moving to the Milwaukee area in 2003,
worked for various youth baseball leagues in Bristol, R.I.; Beaver Dam, Wis.; and, Minneapolis, Minn. Since
2004, he has volunteered with Franklin Little League as umpire coordinator, helping train new youth and adult
umpires.

Sam has been a WUA since 2009, umpiring since 2008. Started at the Little League level in Franklin, South

Nick Spence
Nick has been a member of WUA since 2002. Works spring and summer high school baseball seasons in the
Langsdorf, Land ‘O Lakes leagues, Milwaukee Baseball League (MBL) and youth baseball. Family was
recipient of 2007 Ray E. Kalski Award. He is entering his 8th season serving as Head Junior Varsity Baseball

Paul Vanden Heuvel,

Paul has been a member of the WUA since 2006 has officiated high school baseball 30 years and high school fast pitch softball for 20 years. He played amateur baseball for 20 years. He has been the Land O’ Lakes Commissioner of the Western Division since 2002. He has also umpired college baseball for the past 5 years, including the Russ Matt Invitational in Florida for the past three years. Umpiring and assigning games for Land O’ Lakes and other adult amateur baseball leagues for the past 10 years.

Jerry Bridgewater
Jerry has been umpiring and a WUA member since 1980. He has been a trainer for 8 years. He worked in the
2001& 2002 state spring tournaments, crew chief in 2002. Jerry has served as Vice President of WUA on 3

Bernie Mach
Bernie started his umpiring life in slow pitch softball and youth baseball in 1986 and in 1996 joined the WUA.
He became interested in fast pitch softball as time went on, and started doing youth, high school, and college
fast pitch. Umpired WIAA fast pitch in the area and have done several regional and sectional games and enjoy
college fast pitch at the D3 and D2 level and numerous college tournaments at the D3 level. In the summer I
umpire summer ball in many ASA tournaments and Finals. Elected WUA Umpire of the year for softball in
2008, and has been with the training staff for the past two years.
